Georgia GOP Lies about Their Own Bill
You’d think they’d be proud of passing legislation that has become infamous across the country, but GA GOP politicians are pushing really hard to separate themselves from the what’s really in that bill. They’re claiming their purpose was to make it easier to vote. And yet, in the second section of the bill, it says quite plainly that the purpose of their bill is to further embed the Big Lie into the brains of their base.
Note: the following excerpt is directly from the law as enacted. The lines are numbered, as is required for laws, so the law can be specifically cited.
SECTION 2
The General Assembly finds and declares that:70 (1) Following the 2018 and 2020 elections, there was a significant lack of confidence in71 Georgia election systems, with many electors concerned about allegations of rampant voter72 suppression and many electors concerned about allegations of rampant voter fraud;
Remember, these are the same guys who welcomed Rudy Giuliani into their midst to help convince their voters that Trump really won the election but neglected to ask Rudy to testify under oath. So his lies became their lies, and they’re forced to defend themselves by spouting even more lies.
David Ralston, like his buddy Brian Kemp, wants his low-information voters to believe that Stacey Abrams was responsible for MLB’s decision to move the 2020 All Star game from Atlanta to Denver. They know, in fact, that Stacey Abrams specifically asked MLB not to move the game. If that’s not enough, so-called “thought leaders” or “intellectuals” in the Republican Party are now openly making arguments that not every American citizen should have the right to vote. This is the same argument used to justify the expansion of slavery into new states and used by Barry Goldwater to criticize the the New Deal of FDR.

And of course, too much is never enough for Donald Trump, who is now complaining that the Georgia voting law didn’t go far enough to ensure that can take over as dictator any time he wants.

David Ralston apparently wants to know what we Georgia voters think about voting. You can find his number on the billboard at the bottom of this section. Let him hear your voice!
