State Committee Seats

The HCDP Committee has one open at-large seat to fill for an unexpired term ending in 2022 and two State Committee seats to fill.

The HCDP Committee is the governing authority of the county Democratic Party; responsibilities include promoting the development of Party organizations & activities (such as recruiting qualified candidates for office, supporting Democratic nominees, encouraging voter registration & participation, and assisting with primary and general elections functions). and electing Officers and State Committee members. Requirements to run:

  • must be 18 years of age or older.
  • must be living and registered to vote in Hall County.
  • must declare yourself to be a member of the Democratic Party.

We also have two State Committee seats to fill. You don’t have to be a member of the HCDP Committee to run for a seat on the State Committee. State Committee members participate in quarterly meetings to help determine the direction of the Democratic Party of Georgia. The DPG encourages gender equity on the State Committee, and therefore we want to do our best to elect 1 male and 1 female for these seats. Requirements to run are the same as above. The term for each of these seats expires in February 2023.

Because these are replacements for uncompleted terms, only the HCDP Committee members will vote on replacements.

If you are interested in running for either the HCDP at-large Committee post or one of the State Committee seats, please send an email to [email protected]. In the subject line, please put “HCDP Committee Seat” and in the body of the email, please indicate if you are interested in running for the at-large seat on the HCDP Committee or the State Committee (or both).

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 26.
