State Committee Elections

We have two State Committee seats that will be up for election at our next meeting on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Gainesville Civic Center. The meeting starts at 6:00PM,

The DPG Committee is the decision-making body of the state Democratic Party. Members of the DPG Committee may adopt Party policy, legislative platforms, amend the Charter and Bylaws, nominate and elect State Party Officers and Congressional District Chairs, and act upon other matters it deems necessary.

The State Committee meets at least once a year, in different cities in Georgia. Meetings are held on on a Saturday, and DPG committee members from all over Georgia attend. DPG Committee members are also delegates for the state convention, which next takes place in 2026.

State committee members have the opportunity to meet with Democrats from every county in Georgia. The annual meetings are a chance to mingle with the state Democratic leadership, to serve on state committees that set the agenda for the entire party, and to be with like-minded people from throughout the state.

We need committed local Democrats who are excited to work with the state party to get Democrats elected nationally, in the state of GA, and in Hall County.

Who is eligible to run for the DPG Committee?

  • Any Democratic Voter registered to vote in Hall County interested in helping lead Georgia, the 7th & 9th Districts, and Hall County to a BLUER future. You do NOT have to be on the county committee to be on the state committee.
  • Must be a registered voter who resides in Hall County
  • Must affirm commitment to the goals of the Democratic party, not be a member of any other political party or body as defined in the Georgia Election Code, and not be affiliated with any political group whose ideals, goals, and methods are incompatible with those of the State Party, as identified by the DPG Executive Committee.
  • Can commit time to attend the annual DPG meeting.
  • Must attend the February 12, 2024, 6:00 pm meeting at the Civic Center
